Headline: World’s Most Expensive Gingerbread House Is Created Containing £6 Million Diamonds For A Festive Proposal
Caption: The world’s most expensive gingerbread house has been created, adorned with diamonds valued at a staggering £6 million. Created by renowned designer Debbie Wingham, the cake was created for a private client who is planning to propose over the festive season. Known as the "Countess of Confection" according to the Food Network, Wingham has earned her reputation through her extraordinary life-sized cakes, which have captured the likenesses of celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Karl Lagerfeld, and Ru Paul. The remarkable gingerbread creation is a visual delight, radiating holiday cheer with its intricate edible details. It was painstakingly crafted using various culinary techniques such as cake lace, meticulous hand-piping, artful moulding, and meticulously cast sugar. To enhance its beauty, a sumptuous homemade marshmallow was used to create a stunning snowy landscape. The edible components of the masterpiece consist of a harmonious blend of ginger cookies forming the structural foundation, complemented by icing sugar, chocolate, sprinkles, and fondant, meticulously applied for decorative accents. Standing just under one meter in height and measuring 75 centimetres in width, the confection required a colossal 15 kilograms of flour and over 17 kilograms of sugar to bring it to life. It demanded more than two weeks of meticulous craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from the Dolce and Gabbana flagship store in Puerto Banus, paying tribute to the client's favourite brand and boutique. The exterior of the gingerbread marvel showcases an array of intricate icing details. Gingerbread walls are sculpted with utmost precision, and windows are crafted from the delicate and challenging-to-render isomalt sugar, achieving a transparent, flawless finish. Exploring the interior reveals a wonderland of sugar and artistry, seamlessly combining high fashion with culinary craftsmanship. The attention to detail is extraordinary, with a sugar replica of both the exterior and interior of the Dolce & Gabbana store, capturing the essence of Sicily. The display features edible mannequins, racks of delectable attire crafted from rice paper imprinted with signature Dolce & Gabbana patterns, edible shoes and designer handbags, and even rice paper-clad walls and floors replicating the terrazzo tile finish of the original store. Iconic Dolce Vita prints, festive shop fittings, and decorations punctuate the entire interior. Within the sugary wonderland lie three dazzling diamonds, valued at a total of £3.1 million, alongside three additional individual pink diamonds, each worth just over a million pounds. The couple plans to design both the engagement ring and matching earrings together in the coming weeks, culminating in an engagement party on New Year's Eve.
