Caption: Born on a bleak Welsh hillside on Christmas Eve, tiny pony Grace is fighting for her life. Weighing just 24kg, Grace would have quickly succumbed to the cold, wet winter weather she was born too early into. Originally taken in by the Welsh Pony Rescue and Rehabilitation Charitable Trust, Grace was aggressively rejected by her mother, resulting in an infected bite wound. With desperately low immunity and needing intensive care Grace was transferred to Lluest Horse and Pony Trust which is helping her in her fight against sepsis and painful stomach ulcers. Currently staying in the living room of Lluest's farmhouse where staff can keep her warm and under the closest observation, Grace requires round-the-clock feeding and daily vet visits to support her recovery. Situated on a 40-acre farm in the Brecon Beacons, the Lluest Horse and Pony Trust, established in 1985, is one of only two National Equine Welfare Council member equine welfare charities in Wales.
