Among the odder gifts are the cat food, 3D selfie figurines, and a private show with mentalist, Dr. Carl Christman. There are some charity items too, as 10,000 dog meals are donated from each bag in support of PETA's Global Compassion Fund. This is celebrity marketing with a mission.” The bags are not affiliated in any way with the Oscars or the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, but stars can still expect luxury and extravagance. The contents of the bags also include supplements, skincare, tequila, gourmet popcorn, ‘performance inactivewear’ gift set, a sound bath, gratitude postcards, and even a Rubik's Cube 50th anniversary collector's edition. "While this gift bag does, as always, have an impressive six-figure value, that is neither our focus nor goal," said Fary. "Just as any A-list actor doesn't 'need' millions of dollars to walk onto a film set, these gifts are given based on the invaluable stardust these nominees can bestow upon a brand,” he added. The 96th Academy Awards take place on Sunday 10 March 2024, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Other nominees include Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper, Jeffrey Wright, Mark Ruffalo, Lily Gladstone, Carey Mulligan, Sterling K. Brown, America Ferrera, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Jodie Foster, and Christopher Nolan.
