Caption: **VIDEO AVAILABLE: CONTACT INFO@COVERMG.COM TO RECEIVE** Renault has unveiled one of its oddest ever concept cars, the Filante Record 2025. The striking electric concept car fuses its motorsport heritage with a vision for the future of sustainable mobility. The single-seater, inspired by legendary record-breaking Renaults such as the 40 CV des Records (1925), Nervasport des Records (1934) and Étoile Filante (1956), is designed to push the limits of aerodynamics and efficiency. With sleek, flowing lines reminiscent of aircraft, it aims to set new performance benchmarks. The demo car will debut at the Rétromobile motor show in Paris from 5 to 9 February before attempting to break efficiency records later in the year. Finished in Ultraviolet Blue, a shade specially developed for the project, the vehicle integrates historic design cues such as round headlamps and wheel fairings while embracing cutting-edge aerodynamics. Renault’s engineers, in collaboration with Ligier Automotive, have optimised airflow and weight distribution, using lightweight materials such as carbon fibre and the aerospace-grade alloy Scalmalloy. The interior follows a minimalist, aviation-inspired approach, featuring a high-tech, lightweight cockpit with a steer-by-wire system replacing traditional mechanical connections. A panoramic digital display is integrated into the steering wheel, which rises when the cockpit opens for ease of access. The driver’s seat, a hammock-like structure, reduces weight while enhancing ergonomics. Renault Filante Record 2025 also showcases pioneering battery technology, using cell-to-pack integration for improved energy efficiency. Specially designed Michelin tyres further enhance performance, minimising rolling resistance. The vehicle’s name pays homage to Renault’s long history of record-setting cars, marking the centenary of the 40 CV’s achievements in 1925. With its sights set firmly on the future, the Filante Record 2025 is more than a concept—it is a rolling laboratory for Renault’s next generation of electric vehicles.
