The Barbie actress/producer will return to her native Australia to collect the honour, which recognises an Australian screen practitioner who inspires others in the industry through their ability, achievements and success. ”Australia has always been my grounding force, and to receive this recognition here is incredibly special. I believe in the power of storytelling and the impact it can have on shaping culture and inspiring others," Robbie said in a statement. Robbie, who got her start on the Australian soap Neighbours, will be presented with the honour during the ceremony, which will be held at the Home of the Arts (HOTA) in Queensland's Gold Coast on 10 February. ”Margot Robbie's impact extends beyond her on-screen performances, as she continues to shape narratives and challenge industry norms," said an AACTA spokesperson. "Her commitment to empowering women in film, combined with her talent and business acumen, solidifies Robbie as an influential figure in the entertainment world and a deserved recipient of the 2024 AACTA Trailblazer Award.” Robbie is also nominated competitively for the AACTA International Award for Best Lead Actress in Film alongside Emma Stone (Poor Things), Lily Gladstone (Killers of a Flower Moon), Cate Blanchett (The New Boy) and Carey Mulligan (Maestro). The announcement of Robbie's honour comes almost a week after she was snubbed for the Best Actress Oscar for her titular performance in Greta Gerwig's film. She still received a nomination as a producer. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
