On Feb. 6, the American Gaming Association (AGA) released results of a survey conducted by Morning Consult. 2,204 adults were surveyed to find out if they'll be placing bets on this year's big game. AGA president and CEO Bill Miller issued a statement about the survey results. "As the Super Bowl comes to Las Vegas for the first time, this year's record interest in wagering marks a full circle moment for the U.S. gaming industry." "Our priority remains getting this opportunity right by providing the consumer protections only a regulated market can guarantee and investing in responsible gambling tools, safeguards and education." AGA president and CEO Bill Miller, via statement. 26% of adult Americans could end up betting a combined total of $23.1 billion as the Chiefs take on the 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII. Eilers & Krejcik Gaming, a research firm, predicts that $1.25 billion worth of bets will be placed with American sportsbooks. while 25% will be same-game parlays, and 15% of bets will be made after kickoff. Last week, Caesars Sportsbook said that it received a $1 million bet that the 49ers will win and a $100,000 bet that the coin flip to start the game will be tails.
