The dress featured straps that lifted off of Emily's shoulders - offering the illusion of floating. The 41-year-old accessorised the look with Tiffany & Co. diamond jewellery and a chic braided chignon. Regarding the dress, stylist Jessica Paster told Vanity Fair that she was excited for Emily to try a different silhouette. ”Did I know that people were going to talk about the shoulder? Absolutely," she told the outlet. ”Do I care what anybody else has to say? Absolutely not. Me? I think that people that know fashion, like fashion, like things that are interesting, were going to like it and I know the people that like some things that are very classic were not going to like it. At the end of the day, she looked absolutely beautiful. It was such a beautiful dress.” However, Jessica was a little surprised to see Emily's Oppenheimer co-star Florence Pugh wearing a silver Del Core dress with floating shoulders at the annual event too. ”I thought (Emily) was gonna be the first one to wear it... and then I saw that the beautiful Florence Pugh also had a very similar shoulder," she added.
