The news was announced on Sunday's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night episode of American Idol. Several stars took to the comments section of the post to congratulate the Family Affair hitmaker. Taraji P. Henson wrote, "YAAAAAASSSS SIS!!!! CONGRATS!!!” while Kandi Burruss wrote, “Congratulations!!!!!!”. The Grammy winner's fellow inductees include Cher, Kool & the Gang, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, A Tribe Called Quest and Peter Frampton. During the ceremony, the Musical Excellence Award will also be presented to Dionne Warwick, the late Jimmy Buffett, MC5, and late songwriter/producer Norman Whitfield. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on 19 October at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
