Caption: How to keep your fitness up during the colder months. Regular exercise is essential for a healthy lifestyle and can help you stay energised and improve your mood as the temperatures drop and the days get shorter. To help you beat the winter blues and stay on track with your fitness goals, Geezers Boxing fitness expert Leon Bolmeer has shared his top tips. Set realistic goals. Setting unrealistic goals can be demotivating, so try to set goals that you know you can achieve. ”Creating a consistent routine is key to long-term success. Being consistent doesn't mean pushing yourself beyond your limits; it means adapting to the season.” Listen to your body. It is normal to feel more tired than usual during the colder months, so try not to push yourself too hard. ”If your body feels fatigued due to darker days and colder weather, it's perfectly fine to scale back your workouts. Focus on maintaining movement in ways that suit your energy levels, rather than striving for the same intensity year-round.” Prepare the night before. If you struggle to find the motivation to work out in the morning, preparing the night before can help. ”Simple steps like preparing workout clothes the night before or planning workout sessions in advance can make it easier to stay on track, even when motivation wane.” Try LIIT. Try swapping your high-intensity interval training (HIIT) for low-intensity interval training (LIIT), which can be easier if you are low on energy. ”LIIT focuses on longer, lower-intensity exercise periods, allowing the muscles to experience tension for a more extended time, leading to increased strength and stamina without the pressure of rapid repetitions.” Daylight walks. If you're feeling low on energy, getting outside for a walk can give you the boost you need. Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
