Caption: UK And EU Agree Draft Deal To Scrap Brexit Food Export Checks. The UK and European Union have agreed a draft deal to remove many post-Brexit checks on food and agricultural trade. The proposed agreement has been circulated to EU countries ahead of the UK-EU summit later this month. It could allow British exports including fresh sausages, burgers, shellfish and seed potatoes to resume, while removing costly health certificates and other border checks. British pet passports for travel to the EU would also return. The government estimates the agreement could eventually provide £5.1 billion in annual benefits to the UK economy. In return, Britain would commit to following and adapting to EU rules covering plant, animal and food standards, known as "dynamic alignment”. Draft agreements covering emissions trading and a youth travel and work scheme have also been circulated ahead of the summit.
