Diddy posted the apology video to Instagram after footage emerged of him allegedly assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel in 2016. ”My behaviour on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I'm disgusted.” He went on to say how he was at "rock bottom" at the time and claimed he "sought out professional help, started going to therapy and rehab (and) had to ask god for his mercy and grace”. 50 Cent, who has a long-standing feud with Diddy, was quick to question his motives. He reposted the video and wrote: "This is not going to work, who is advising him right now? SMH bad move.” He's not the only big name to speak out against Diddy's apology video. Aubrey O'Day, who was part of the group Danity Kane launched by Diddy in 2005, has been a long-time critic of her former mentor. ”Diddy did not apologise to Cassie. He apologised to the world for seeing what he did.” "When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. That he was only compelled to 'apologise' once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.” Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy in November in which she accused him of being abusive during their relationship.
