The Havana singer, now 27, revealed on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast on Monday that her romance with the British dating expert, 36, was her first real relationship. Recalling meeting him on the set of the Today show in February 2018, Camila said: ”I was outside where they have the TV with the scripts. I had actually listened to his podcast before. I listened to his podcast before as a fan because he had, like, a dating podcast, I was like, 'Oh my God. I'm such a big fan'... and so we went to dinner that night. And that was my first relationship.” Sharing her worries about dating, she continued: ”It was late for my first... I was like, 'Oh my God. I've never had a boyfriend.' There was literally eight songs (I had written) that were, like, basically, lonely, I am so lonely.” Dax asked if she had had sex before that and she candidly replied, "No. That was my first time having sex. First lovemaking was at 20, 21... It was literally lovemaking. It was beautiful.” The former Fifth Harmony star added that Matthew's life coaching skills made him "a great partner" during their relationship between 2018 and 2019. ”He was a really great person. It was like the perfect first relationship. Really expanded my world because he wasn't in my industry too. It was like, 'Oh my God. Have you ever seen Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown? And have you ever seen Studio Ghibli films?' He just really expanded my references.” Camila also noted that Matthew is now married, having tied the knot to Audrey Le Strat in October 2023, and offered up her congratulations.
