UK prosecutors have formally requested the extradition of Andrew and Tristan Tate from the United States to face rape and sex-trafficking charges. The brothers, who hold dual US-UK citizenship, face a combined 59 charges in Britain and deny all allegations against them. The Crown Prosecution Service initially brought 21 charges before adding another 38 in July over alleged offences dating from 2010 to 2017. US authorities detained the brothers in July following the additional UK charges, and they recently lost a bid for release on bail in Florida. Andrew Tate faces charges including 10 counts of rape, sex trafficking, assault and offences involving indecent images of a child. Tristan Tate is accused of offences including five counts of rape, six counts of assault, three sex-trafficking charges and sexual assault. Their lawyer Joe McBride said he would challenge the extradition requests, claiming British authorities had failed to provide necessary supporting documents. The US State Department will review the requests before they can proceed through the Justice Department and courts, with the brothers remaining in custody during the process.
