According to a Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia survey, one in three Americans who make at least six figures a year are stressed about paying bills, CNN reports. 30.8% of people making between $100,000 and $149,000 annually are worried about their expenses over the next six months. That's a 21.3% increase from the year earlier. 32.5% of people who make $150,000 or more are worried about paying their bills. That's a 21.7% increase from last year. Meanwhile, only 23% of those who make $70,000 to $99,999 are concerned. Overall, there was a 28.7% increase in worry about making ends meet among all consumers. In order to mitigate financial worry, 43.1% of consumers said they are reducing their spending on entertainment and dining out. 37% of people making over $150,000 a year say they are also cutting those costs. 23.5% of all consumers are even cutting spending on food and medical care, with 17.1% of wealthy people claiming to be doing the same.
