Caption: Man Charged With 11 Counts of Attempted Murder After Train and Station Knife Attacks. A 32-year-old man, Anthony Williams from Peterborough, has been charged with 11 counts of attempted murder following two knife attacks in Cambridgeshire and east London. British Transport Police said Williams faces 10 counts of attempted murder, one count of actual bodily harm and possession of a bladed article after the stabbing on the Doncaster to London King’s Cross train. He was also charged with one additional count of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article linked to an earlier knife attack at Pontoon Dock station on 1 November. One victim suffered facial injuries in the Pontoon Dock assault, while several others were injured on the LNER train stopped in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. Armed police arrested Williams within eight minutes of the first 999 call. Another man detained at the scene was later released after being cleared of involvement. A member of LNER staff, described as “heroic,” helped prevent further bloodshed. BTP Deputy Chief Constable Stuart Cundy said his actions “undoubtedly saved people’s lives.” Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander confirmed that one man, originally in life-threatening condition, remains in hospital in a “critical but stable” state. Prosecutors said there was sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial, while police urged the public not to share information that could jeopardize ongoing proceedings.
