Caption: Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gets a bit of blame for the drop in spending on games in the States in 2024. Eurogamer report that game hardware numbers have dropped in the US, by 40% in May this year, compared to last year’s figures for the same month, as reported by Circana. The reason? Industry analyst and Circana boss Mat Piscatella has shared his insight on the numbers saying that it could be, "partially attributed to the strength of the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in the May 2023 comparable period." Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S hardware didn’t take the only hit however with game ‘content’, games and in-game currency and items all also falling in sales by 3% compared to 2023. Piscatella posted the highlights on X. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
