Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Jack Quaid slams himself for being a nepo baby

Caption: Jack Quaid slams himself for being a nepo baby. Jack Quaid has conceded he is a nepo baby and has shied away from his famous parents defending him. The 32-year-old star of The Boys is the son of Hollywood icons Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan who were married from 1991 until 2001. In recent months there has been something of a social backlash against celebrity offspring seemingly breezing into the entertainment world. In the past, Meg has defended her son from such criticism, telling Glamour in 2023: ”That nepo stuff is so dismissive of his work ethic, his gifts, and how sensitive he is to the idea of his privilege.” But in an interview with the Daily Beast on Wednesday, Jack discussed whether or not he would qualify as a nepo baby, and admitted, "I'm inclined to agree.” Addressing his mother's intervention, he said, "My first thought was like, she's being a mom. She's being a loving mom”. ”I don't think she's trying to say that I'm not a nepo baby. I think she's just trying to say that, in her opinion, it undermines my talent. I don't think it undermines my talent.” He went on to defend his own work ethic, stating: ”I know that I work hard, and I know I've heard no way more than I've heard yes. But I also know that this industry is insanely hard to break into, and I had an easier time doing that than most. Both things can be true. So no, I don't think she was trying to say that I'm not a privileged person. She knows. She must know. I think she was being a mom.” THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
