Perrie has now opened up about the fractured relationship and expressed her sadness for how things ended the singer said in a new interview with Cosmopolitan: “We don't talk, and haven't done for a long time…It's really sad, it's heartbreaking.” Perrie has hinted she had hoped the pair could repair their friendship, but also insisted she understands why Jesy wants to keep her distance. ”But sometimes these things happen and people decide they want to part ways, and that's absolutely fine. I would rather it went differently, but you can't control how things go.” During the cover interview Perrie also touched upon her own mental health. The 31-year-old star admitted she is feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and is having therapy sessions to tackle the issue. ”My anxiety is probably the worst it's ever been... It started to consume me. It's horrible. I try to speak out about it, because when you feel so anxious or scared of panic attacks. It makes you feel so isolated.” Perrie also spoke about motherhood and her son Axel, who will turn three in August. She shared that she felt compelled to step out of the spotlight when he arrived and loved being in a "baby bubble" with Axel and her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
