Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Luxury Mountainside Cabin Once Owned By Burt Reynolds Sells For A Staggering $3 Million
Caption: A mountainside home once owned by the late Hollywood actor Burt Reynolds has sold for $2.9 million. The stunning residence, situated in Highlands, North Carolina, boasts four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The cabin is situated close to the filming site of a well-known scene from Reynold's 1972 thriller 'Deliverance'. Burt and his ex-wife Loni Anderson purchased the home while filming Deliverance, captivated by the area's beauty. The home was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright protégé Jim Fox and completed the same year Deliverance premiered. Inside, the house boasts a typical log cabin style with wooden ceilings and walls, and even the bed frames are carved out of tree trunks. The sunken living room, which has hosted stars like Sally Field and James Garner, features a grand stone fireplace. The picturesque views of the Blue Ridge Mountains can be enjoyed from almost any point in the home. A wrap-around porch includes an al fresco seating area, an outdoor dining space, and a tranquil waterfall leading into a small pond. Highlands, located in the Nantahala National Forest, is a small town with only 1,000 residents with notable neighbours including Steve Martin, Stephen King, and Nicole Kidman. Burt passed away in 2018 from a heart attack at the age of 82, leaving behind a legacy that includes a portfolio of 14 properties.
