Caption: Police Scotland Launches Inquiries Into Andrew And Epstein Balmoral Visits. Police Scotland is carrying out "active inquiries" into the activities of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell during visits to Balmoral Castle. The inquiries reportedly relate to allegations that women were trafficked to the royal residence in Aberdeenshire. Police Scotland said the investigation was at a "very early stage" and that all inquiries would be evidence-led and focused on victim survivors. Flight logs show Mountbatten-Windsor and Maxwell travelled on Epstein's private jet from Luton to Edinburgh with two other passengers in September 2006. An image believed to show Epstein and Maxwell at Balmoral was released during her sex trafficking trial and is thought to have been taken in 1999. Documents released in the Epstein Files also included a 2001 email from someone identified as "A" who said they were at Balmoral and asked Maxwell for "new inappropriate friends”. Epstein died by suicide in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, while Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022. Mountbatten-Windsor, who has consistently denied wrongdoing linked to Epstein, was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February and later released.
