Caption: Ed Sheeran reveals his 'end goal' is to 'transition to country’. The British musician has revealed that he may switch genres in the future. During an appearance on this week's episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, host Alex Cooper asked Ed if he had any plans to release a country album. ”Nashville is, like, my favorite city in the States," the Shape of You hitmaker replied. ”My end goal would be like, I'm gonna move to Nashville and transition to country.” Ed then noted that if he does make the move into country music, he wants to be fully committed. ”I feel like I have to do it properly. And I feel like once you transition to country, you can't transition back. Once you're there, you're there.” "It's a genre you have to really respect. It's not just, dip in and out.” Ed has collaborated with a number of country singers in the past, as he released a duet version of his song Life Goes On with Luke Combs in 2023, which they performed at the ACM Awards that year. In 2019, the Bad Habits singer collaborated with country star Chris Stapleton on the song Blow, which also features Bruno Mars. Ed’s comments come shortly after he confirmed that his next album is called Play and teased that it could be part of a series of albums. A number of pop stars have crossed over into country music in recent years, including Post Malone with his debut country album F-1 Trillion and Beyoncé with Cowboy Carter. More recently, Chappell Roan released her first country track, The Giver, in March. Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
