Its prolonged mission included combat operations and a naval blockade during the US conflict with Iran, leaving the crew with little opportunity for extended periods ashore. The deployment has raised concerns over the sailors' wellbeing, with reports of declining morale, deteriorating conditions aboard the ship and apparent suicide attempts.
