Headline: UNCAPTIONED: How Science Finally Solved The Mystery Of Peanut Allergies

Caption: How Science Finally Solved The Mystery Of Peanut Allergies. For decades, doctors believed the best way to prevent peanut allergies was to keep young children away from peanuts entirely but new research shows that advice was completely wrong. Dr. Gideon Lack, a London-based allergist, first began questioning that assumption 25 years ago after noticing something unusual during a lecture in Tel Aviv. While peanut allergies were common among Jewish children in the UK, they were almost unheard of in Israel. The key difference? Israeli infants were introduced to peanut products early in life. Over years of study, Lack and his colleagues discovered that early exposure actually helps prevent peanut allergies, not cause them. Their findings have now reshaped medical guidelines worldwide and may explain why allergy rates in the US are finally falling. As Lack puts it, “By thinking we were protecting them, we were actually causing the problem.” Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
