Caption: Ozzy Osbourne admits he is not proud of drug use but 'wouldn't change a thing’. On the latest episode of The Osbournes Podcast, the Black Sabbath vocalist reflected on his battle with alcoholism and drug addiction, which began in the 1970s. ”My drug escapades - I am not really proud of - but they are a part of my journey.” On the podcast, where listeners often submit questions for the Osbourne family, Ozzy was asked: ”After your long career and the drugs you have had, if you were to have a second chance at life - would you leave anything out? I.e. drugs, or in some way do you think they helped you get through life?” The 75-year-old was quick to respond, noting, "If I changed anything, then I wouldn't be where I am now.” The Osbournes also discussed on the podcast whether marijuana should be legalised, which prompted a resounding yes from Ozzy. ”I think it should be legalised everywhere... but I would say this, it definitely is a gateway drug. I would sooner prefer people to smoke marijuana than tobacco. Tobacco is the most addictive thing I ever put in my body.” His son, Jack Osbourne, was slightly more hesitant in agreeing, stating that there should be more awareness and education about the drug. ”It can do amazing things (but) it can also do horrible things for people.” Ozzy told Variety in February 2021 that he had been sober for about seven years, while Jack celebrated 20 years of sobriety in April this year.
