Caption: 4 Republicans Qualify for Next Presidential Debate. The fourth Republican presidential primary debate will take place in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Dec. 6. The four candidates that have qualified to participate are Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy and Chris Christie, CNN reports. As usual, GOP nomination front-runner Donald Trump will skip the debate. Instead, he will attend a Florida fundraiser for a super PAC that supports his run for office. In order to qualify for the upcoming debate, candidates had to satisfy the Republican National Committee's (RNC) increased donor and polling criteria. That criteria includes a minimum of 80,000 unique donors, 200 of which must come from 20 states or territories. Candidates "also had to register at least 6% in two qualifying national polls or in one national poll and two polls from separate early-voting states," CNN reports. Lastly, each candidate was required to sign a pledge promising to support whoever wins the GOP nomination. After suspending his campaign on Dec. 4, Gov. Doug Burgum slammed the RNC's heightened debate qualification thresholds. "These arbitrary criteria ensure advantages for candidates from major media markets on the coasts versus America's Heartland." "None of their debate criteria relate to the qualifications related to actually doing the job of the president." "This effort to nationalize the primary system is unhealthy for the future of the party, especially for a party that proclaims to value leadership from outside of Washington.", Gov. Doug Burgum, via statement. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
