Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Drake wants to be dismissed from Astroworld lawsuits

Caption: Drake wants to be dismissed from Astroworld lawsuits. More than 2,500 people have sued after a crowd crush during Travis Scott's festival set left 10 dead and hundreds injured in November 2021. While the majority of lawsuits focused on Scott and the festival organisers, Drake was named as a defendant in some complaints as he made a guest appearance during Scott's set. According to Billboard, Drake's lawyers are now pushing for him to be dismissed from the ongoing litigation. In a motion filed in Houston, Texas on Friday, they argued that he should not be involved at all as the organisers had already "confirmed under oath that Mr. Graham was not involved in any planning”. Drake, real name Aubrey Graham, didn't know about any safety problems before his appearance, according to his legal team. “Mr. Graham did not receive any security briefings, was not informed of any crowd control issues, injuries or deaths in the crowd, or any stop show orders at any time either before or during his 14-minute performance.” They added that the discovery process hasn't brought up any evidence to suggest the rapper could be held liable for negligence. “Plaintiffs produce no evidence that Mr. Graham actually knew of any risk in the Festival site design and layout, competence or adequacy of Festival staffing and personnel, or emergency procedures such as show stop authority.” All of the cases have been rolled into one single action in Houston. They add up to billions of dollars in potential damages. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
