Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Farmer Dives Into Water Pipe To Save Two Tiny Lambs From Drowning

Caption: Farmer Marian Porter making a stunning rescue of two tiny lambs at Easter Dawyck Farm in Scotland on 27 March 2024. Terrible wet weather conditions have caused problems for farmers this year and almost resulted in the loss of two scotch mule lambs who sought shelter in a fast-flowing water pipe. Marian, however, had other ideas and scrambled to save the lambs - plunging head first into the pipe. Her partner, Gary Thornborrow, who shot the footage, said: “Marian took the quick decision to scramble in and save them as fast as she could. “All farmers go to extreme lengths to care and look after their livestock on a regular basis and rescue missions like this we do without a second thought.” Gary and Marian have been “overwhelmed” by the support they received on social media - although some questioned why there was not a grate on the pipe in question. However, Gary explained that this would get choked up and flood the field, putting livestock at risk. Both the lambs and Marian have come through rescue and are doing well - but are looking forward to some drier spring and summer weather! Gary also hopes the popularity of the clip will help efforts to raise money for charities helping mental health and cancer in the farming community later this year.
