Earlier this month, the siblings released the new alt-pop album which hit the top of the charts in the UK and reached number 2 in the USA. And while the album was largely well received by critics, Pitchfork awarded the record a mediocre 6.8/10 - which Finneas has taken issue with. Responding to a comment from a fan on TikTok, the writer and producer panned the review, writing: ”Nothing cool about writing a positive review of an album everyone likes- they've gotta have an angle. Billie herself has previously opened up about the agonising creative process she underwent to make the new record, her third studio album. She told BBC Radio 1 earlier this month that she struggled to settle on a sound for the album. ”We started working on this album officially in October 2022 and had many months of ideas that weren't very solidified and weren't very exciting to us.
