Caption: FIFA Accused of Withholding Bonus Payments as Infantino Faces Blackmail Allegations. Pressure on Gianni Infantino is mounting by the day, even after the FIFA president abandoned plans to bring outside investors into the World Cup. Several football associations have already formally withdrawn their support for the FIFA chief, who is now facing fresh and serious allegations. Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, head of the Jordan Football Association, has accused FIFA of holding back prize money. Jordan is still waiting for the $4.2 million it earned as runners-up at the 2025 Arab Cup, with Prince Ali alleging that FIFA intentionally held back the payment. In a post on X, Prince Ali levelled further serious accusations against FIFA, claiming Jordan was forced to shoulder excessive tax and visa costs during the World Cup in the United States and that fans faced significant difficulties travelling to the tournament. He also accused FIFA of flaunting its financial strength while making those demands. According to Prince Ali, he was led to believe that Jordan would only receive the funds if it threw its support behind Infantino. ”For months, FIFA has refused to assist us on this or any other matter. Then, during the World Cup, I was told that backing Infantino would greatly benefit our football association... That's blackmail.". Prince Ali bin al-Hussein on X. Prince Ali ran for the FIFA presidency a decade ago but lost to Infantino. The previous year, he had been defeated by Sepp Blatter. From 2011 to 2015, Prince Ali served as FIFA vice president and a member of its Executive Committee. Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
