Caption: Bentley has unveiled its most powerful car ever - the new fourth generation Continental GT Speed. The Continental GT Speed boasts an all-new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain, delivering a staggering 782 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. The new powertrain combines a new 4.0 litre V8 engine capable of producing 600 PS (584 bhp) with a 190 PS (187 bhp) electric motor. Peak system output is 782 PS (771 bhp) – enough for a 0-60 mph sprint time of just 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h). It also has an electric-only range of 50 miles (81 km) and a total range of 534 miles (859 km), it offers both high performance and impressive efficiency. Full electric mode can be deployed at speeds of up to 87 mph / 140 km/h, with throttle applications of up to 75 per cent. The battery can be fully replenished in as little as 2¾ hours thanks to significant improvements in charger and battery capacity, with 11 kW peak charging power. Underneath its sleek exterior, the new Continental GT Speed incorporates a suite of innovative technologies, including driver assistance, infotainment systems, and connected car services. The exterior design represents the biggest revision in two decades, with a modern, muscular stance and single headlamps reminiscent of Bentley models from the 1950s. Inside, the Continental GT Speed offers ‘wellness seat technology’, air ionisation, three-dimensional leather textures, and modern quilting. The car also features Bentley's Rotating Display, offering a 12.3-inch high-definition display, three elegant analogue dials, and a handcrafted veneer side. A choice of three audio systems, including a Naim 2,200 W system with 18 speakers, ensures an immersive audio experience. For the first time, the convertible Continental GTC is being launched concurrently with the coupe. The GTC features a seven-bow fabric roof system, available in seven exterior colors, and can be deployed in 19 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph (48 km/h). It shares the same performance credentials as the coupe, making it an open-air grand tourer with breathtaking capabilities. Bentley has already set a new ‘underwater speed record’ with the Continental GT Speed, running the car through Norway's Ryfylke Tunnel, the world's longest subsea road tunnel. The car reached its top speed of 208 mph (335 km/h) in just 33 seconds, establishing an unofficial record for a car in a tunnel. Handcrafted at Bentley's Dream Factory in Crewe, England, production and deliveries are set to begin soon.
