Headline: Say Cheese! Rare breed lambs and goat kids arrive at zoo with dairy-themed names

Caption: Spring has sprung at a British zoo - and the newest arrivals are already looking brie-lliant. Lambing season is underway at Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm in Clevedon, North Somerset, where rare breed lambs and playful goat kids have been born over the past few weeks. And in keeping with a local theme, the youngsters have all been given cheese-inspired names. The first Bagot goat kids of the season have already been named Brie and Camembert, with more youngsters joining them as the spring arrivals continue. Other goat kids include Cheddar, Stilton, Babybel, Mozzarella and Blue, along with Branston, Chutney, Fig, Olive, Pickle and Ritz. With so many births in a short space of time, the zoo’s Farm Barns are now full of energetic young goats bounding around their enclosures. Each year the zoo chooses a fun naming theme for its lambs and kids. Last year’s lambs were named after crisps - with twins Nik and Nak the first to arrive. This year, with the famous Cheddar Gorge just down the road, cheese proved to be the perfect inspiration. Alongside the goat kids, lambs are also being born from two native British sheep breeds kept at the zoo - Poll Dorset sheep and Whitefaced Woodland sheep. The Whitefaced Woodland is a native rare breed, and both breeds form part of the zoo’s work to help conserve traditional livestock.
