Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Jelly Roll describes 'rock bottom' moment

Caption: Jelly Roll describes 'rock bottom' moment. The singer had a moment of clarity when his first child was born while he was in prison. Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, told The New York Times he was repeatedly incarcerated from the age of 15. At 25, he learned his daughter Bailee Ann had been born and immediately decided to change his life. “Everybody’s rock bottom is different. For me, it was realising that I was the most qualified person to raise my daughter, and I wasn't qualified. That scared me. I was like: 'I know her mother's a piece of s**t.” “Her mother's family isn't able to raise this child. My family's not able to raise this child. I've got to figure this out’." He affirmed his belief in people's ability to decide to change, and for those decisions to stick. ”I do believe that dramatic change happens. People have those rock-bottom experiences where they woke up and said, 'Today is the day I quit shooting heroin'. There is a lot of steps after that.” “They have to go to rehab. They have to detox. There was a lot of steps I had to change. So yeah, maybe the change wasn't dramatic but the decision was dramatic.” Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
