Caption: Labubu Dolls Make Up 90 Percent Of Fake Toys Seized At UK Border. Labubu dolls accounted for 90 percent of the £3.5 million worth of counterfeit toys seized at the UK border this year, Home Office data shows. Created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung and popularised through Pop Mart, Labubu dolls are marketed as collectibles for over-15s, but remain hugely popular with children. Nearly three in four of the seized fakes failed safety tests, containing harmful chemicals or posing choking hazards. The Intellectual Property Office has launched a new campaign, Fake Toys, Real Harms, warning buyers about the dangers of counterfeit items. Of the 259,000 fake toys seized this year, 236,000 were Labubu dolls with nearly half of purchasers reporting issues ranging from broken toys to toxic smells and even illness. Helen Burnham, IPO deputy director of enforcement, said, “Child safety must come first.”. “These products have bypassed every safety check the law requires — please don’t let your child be the tester.” Instructions: THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
