Caption: Texas-based hypercar manufacturer, Hennessey Special Vehicles, has revealed plans for a 1,817 bhp open-top hypercar, the Venom F5-M Roadster. The Venom F5-M has been extensively re-engineered to elevate the driving experience, focusing on amplifying the driver’s connection to the road. Rejecting electronic interference, Hennessey has opted for a manual transmission to deliver the most physical and engaging experience possible. The result is a hypercar that promises an immersive, sensory-driven ride, placing the driver at the heart of a machine designed for thrilling performance. John Hennessey, the company’s founder and CEO, expressed his excitement: “We are so excited to offer the Venom F5-M Roadster – the world’s most powerful manual. We always wanted to build a manual Venom F5 – and it’s something our clients have been asking for. It’s old school, it’s badass, and it offers ultimate driving engagement.” “Driving the Venom F5 is already a full-body experience that thrills, inspires, and never gets old… but we never say that’s enough. That’s why we’ve dived deeper into the sensation of driving, finding every touchpoint to deliver connection, feedback, sound, and engagement.” Hennessey’s engineering team, led by Brian Jones, has remapped the Fury engine and paired it with new gearing ratios. This combination ensures that the 1,817 bhp is transferred to the road in a controlled manner, balancing extreme acceleration with the need for precision and stability at high speeds. Only 12 Venom F5-M Roadsters will be built, and all have already been sold at a starting price of $2.65 million. Each car will feature a unique livery, allowing owners to personalise their vehicle with one-off colours and exclusive carbon fibre treatments. One of the most striking features of the Roadster is its 55-inch dorsal fin, extending from the roof-mounted air scoop to the rear deck. Inside, the cockpit has been meticulously designed with a focus on driver engagement. The aluminium and carbon fibre gear shifter, housed within a six-speed gate, is positioned for optimal ease of use. This blend of high-end materials and precise engineering reflects Hennessey’s dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail. Hennessey’s Director of Design, Nathan Malinick, described the car as “extreme, authentic, and uniquely American.” He added: “This is a car for bold and brave driving enthusiasts who like their hypercars to thrill with wild power, dramatic design, and an experience behind the wheel that is incomparable to anything else on Earth.” Production of the Venom F5-M will take place at Hennessey’s headquarters in Sealy, Texas. The car builds upon the legacy of the Venom GT Spyder, the world’s fastest convertible road car, which set a top speed of 265.6 mph in 2016 – a record it still holds today.
