Caption: Jaguar Land Rover to Resume Some Production After Cyber-Attack. Jaguar Land Rover plans to restart parts of its UK manufacturing operations in the coming days following a cyber-attack that forced a shutdown. The cyber-attack on 31 August halted work at JLR’s three UK facilities in the West Midlands and Merseyside from 1 September. Earlier, the company had warned that production might not resume until at least 1 October. A JLR spokesperson confirmed that some sections of production will now restart while recovery efforts continue. The company is working closely with cybersecurity experts, the UK National Cyber Security Centre, and law enforcement to ensure a safe restart. Around 30,000 employees work directly at JLR plants in Solihull, Wolverhampton, and Halewood, with another 100,000 in the wider supply chain. Some suppliers risk collapse due to the extended shutdown, prompting concern across the automotive industry. Rich Mulligan, a 63-year-old stock control worker, told the BBC that staff at a JLR supplier were “really struggling” amid the halt. JLR expressed gratitude to employees, retailers, and suppliers for their patience and support during the disruption. The company said foundational recovery work is underway and promised regular updates as operations continue to resume.
