Drake called out fake friends who "might stab you in the back" during a recent nightclub appearance amid his ongoing feud with fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar. ”My real friends, are definitely in the building," he said, according to a video posted to Instagram. ”But I'm going to tell you, you're going to come to a point in life where people you thought were friends or people you thought were close to you, they might switch up. They might try to move funny with you. They might stab you in the back. They might do a lot of things to you.” The 37-year-old continued, telling the crowd: "You'll come to that realisation, wherever you're at in life. You've probably been there and you'll be there again. That's how life is. Sometimes it's you and you alone by yourself.” The rapper abruptly ended his speech by playing Beyoncé's 2003 song Me, Myself and I. Kendrick and Drake's feud reignited this year after Kendrick appeared to diss Drake on Future and Metro Boomin's song Like That in March. They traded diss tracks back and forth for several weeks before concluding with Kendrick's Not Like Us and Drake's The Heart Part 6 in early May. It was recently rumoured that the Canadian star was trying to stop Kendrick from performing Not Like Us when he headlines the 2025 Super Bowl in February. However, a representative for Drake told Us Weekly last week that the rumours are "completely false”. Not Like Us, in which Kendrick accuses Drake of paedophilia and sexual misconduct, became the biggest hit of the diss track series and topped the Billboard singles chart.
