Headline: Nintendo is suing the creators of Palworld for violating several of its patents

Caption: According to Eurogamer, Nintendo has filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair, the developer behind the popular Pokémon-inspired game Palworld, alleging infringement of several patent rights. In a brief statement released on its website early this morning, Nintendo announced that it submitted the patent infringement case to a Tokyo court on September 18th. Nintendo is seeking an injunction to stop the infringement and compensation for damages, claiming that Palworld, developed and released by the defendant, violates several of its patent rights. Since its announcement, Palworld has frequently been likened to Pokémon and is often described as "Pokémon with guns." With the release in January for PC and Xbox, Palworld quickly became a hit. Palworld's success caught the attention of The Pokémon Company, in which Nintendo is a key stakeholder.
