Following an outpouring of support for Altman by OpenAI employees, the company said it was in talks to reverse the decision and retain Altman at the helm. However, those talks reportedly broke down, and OpenAI announced that Twitch co-founder Emmett Shear would be appointed as the new CEO of the company.
