Caption: Israeli Government and Hamas Strike Hostage Deal. The Israel-Hamas war will see a four-day cease-fire in which 50 hostages who are being held in Gaza will be released, NBC News reports. Three Americans, including a 3-year-old girl, are expected to be among the first round of hostages released. The Red Cross will also be granted access to remaining hostages in Gaza. In exchange, Israel will free 150 jailed Palestinians and allow hundreds of aid trucks to enter Gaza. The Israeli government referred to the deal as an opportunity to "consolidate the will of our victorious resistance". The agreement also includes an option to extend the cease-fire if 10 hostages are released each day, according to an Israeli official. The start time of the cease-fire has yet to be announced. President Joe Biden, who took part in the negotiations, was happy to see a positive result from an "extremely excruciating five-week process". "Today’s deal is a testament to the tireless diplomacy and determination of many dedicated individuals across the United States government to bring Americans home." U.S. President Joe Biden, via statement. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed that the deal does not mean the war is over. "We are at war, and we will continue the war until we achieve all our goals — to eliminate Hamas, to return all our hostages and missing persons and to guarantee that there will be no factor in Gaza that threatens Israel." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, via statement. THIS VIDEO MUST NOT BE EDITED FOR LENGTH TO COMBINE WITH OTHER CONTENT
