Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Cheryl Cole reveals son is pleased to have famous parents
Caption: During an interview with British Vogue to discuss the Girls Aloud reunion tour, the 40-year-old star admitted that while she has tried to keep her six-year-old son grounded, he has become aware of his celebrity heritage. "The problem is that I want Bear to have a normal childhood. I don't want people recognising him on the street. But he's twigged that I'm famous. The other day he said, 'How lucky am I to have famous parents?' I said, 'It doesn't matter.' He goes: 'Yeah. But it's pretty cool.'" Cheryl Cole / British Vogue. Cheryl and former One Direction star Liam dated for two years before they went their separate ways in 2018, and have remained on good terms for the sake of their son. On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Cheryl had reunited with her Girls Aloud bandmates Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh for a U.K. and Ireland tour to celebrate their back catalogue. The band have no plans to release any new music but will be treating fans to their greatest hits when their tour begins in May next year. Plans to hit the road to mark their 20th anniversary had been discussed some time ago, but were put on hold following the death of bandmate Sarah Harding in 2021. During an interview on Heart Radio on Thursday morning, Cheryl explained Sarah had been fully onboard with the reunion plans. "I did speak to Sarah one on one at one point, this was in the later stages when she was really poorly though. She'd said to me, 'I hope you four do something when I'm not here' and in that moment I couldn't entertain that conversation. I was trying to keep her up." Cheryl Cole / Heart Radio. Girls Aloud have described the reunion tour as a tribute to Sarah, who died aged 39 of breast cancer, and insisted her original vocals will be kept in the songs when they perform live.
