Headline: UNCAPTIONED: Typhoon Bualoi Triggers Deadly Floods and Landslides in Vietnam

Caption: Torrential rain from Typhoon Bualoi has killed at least 19 people in Vietnam and left many more missing. Flash floods and landslides have cut off roads and isolated communities from northern Son La and Lao Cai to central Nghe An provinces. More than 30cm of rain fell in 24 hours, with forecasters warning heavy downpours will continue across the country. Rivers swollen by rainfall and dam releases caused widespread flooding, particularly in northern regions. The Thao River in Yen Bai rose above emergency levels, flooding homes with water up to a metre deep and prompting evacuations. Many streets in Hanoi were submerged, and authorities advised residents near the Red River to take precautions. State media report that 13 people remain missing, including eight fishermen caught in the storm. Typhoon Bualoi had already claimed at least 20 lives in the Philippines before hitting Vietnam. The storm made landfall on Monday and lingered, prolonging dangerous conditions and increasing the risk of further flooding and landslides. Experts say climate change is intensifying storms like Bualoi, producing stronger winds, heavier rainfall, and shifting precipitation patterns across East Asia.
